Announcements
Being a resident at Atherton, the board tries to put out newsletters every couple of months. In those newletters you will find our latest announcements and tips for the community but also relevant information on current projects that the association is undergoing. Some of the latests announcements are below:
Good evening, Atherton,
Due to the overwhelming phone calls and emails about people parking out in the community without a valid reason or permission the Towing company will be out during the hours of 11:30 pm to 5 am at random to pick up any cars in violation.
Please ensure you have been given approval from the board to park in the community, followed by a sign placed and visible on the dash with lot #, phone # and dates approved for parking.
Violations will include the vehicle being towed at owner's expense based on our CCR's.
Thank you.

Reminders
ARC: ALL modifications, additions and other exterior changes to the exterior of your home must be approved by the Architectural Review Committee (ARC) prior to starting any project. ANY improvements to your side/rear yard require ARC approval as well. If you are unsure if approval is needed, please ask the committee (email to arc@athertonriverside.com) before proceeding with any plans. Forms and complete information can be found here.
Common Areas: No personal items are to be displayed or stored in the common areas. The common area begins outside your fence/gate/roll up garage door/front porch. All of these areas are maintained by the Association and must be kept clear of all personal items. Garden hoses must be put away when not in use or kept on a hose holder attached to your home. They may not be left on the ground or in the landscaping. The Association is not responsible for any damage that occurs to personal property left in the common area.
Gate Code: Entry through both gates requires a remote control gate opener (hand-held or vehicle equipped) or access through the callbox. Guests should use the telephone system at the gate which automatically calls you to open the gate for them. There is no GATE CODE to use at the entry gates.
Fences: Do not apply anything to the fencing that will change the color. Any color applied to fencing will be required to be removed. Only CLEAR sealer is allowed and does NOT require ARC approval.
Forms: All of the Association forms are available for download and printing from this website. Please visit the News & Doc's section and then select forms.
Parking: Park only in designated parking spaces. Do not block driveways. There is NO PARKING in fire lanes. All streets in the community are fire lanes except Grapevine, Arborwood, Arden, and Correll.
Pets: Owners must clean up after their pets and all pets must be on a leash.
Satellite Dishes: Guidelines for allowable locations for a satellite dish can be found here. Satellite dishes are to be placed in a manner so that they are in the least visible location possible that can still receive a signal while using the minimum amount of wiring on the exterior of the home. The minimum requirement is that the satellite dish be placed somewhere on the home which is WITHIN THE PROPERTY FENCING. Any wiring that runs on the outside of the home must be painted the same color as the home. Satellite dishes that are installed in other locations and outside the property fencing will be required to be moved to an acceptable location.
Speed Limit 10 MPH: The maximum speed limit throughout the community is 10 MPH and is posted at each entrance. All residents and their guests must observe all traffic laws while traveling on the streets in Atherton. Driving in any unsafe manner is a violation of the Rules and Regulations and will be cited.
Rules and Regulations: The Association Rules & Regulations were developed to provide all members with the greatest enjoyment of the Common Area facilities while considering their rights to quiet enjoyment of their homes. Please take the time to become familiar with the rules for the pool and other recreational areas. Be considerate of your neighbors by being aware of and following these rules.
Trespassing: There are NO TRESPASSING signs posted at each entrance. There is no soliciting within Atherton except by owners or guests of owners. Anyone that has entered the property without being invited is trespassing and should be asked to leave. The safety of our community is our first priority. You may contact a Board member or the local police department if you need assistance. Please visit the contact us page for contact details.
Volunteer: If you are interested in serving on a committee or on the Board of Directors, you may submit a completed application for consideration. There are currently openings on the Clubhouse, Landscape, and Neighborhood Watch Committees. There are currently no open Board positions. You may submit a completed application and it will be kept on file for consideration if a Board position becomes available. Volunteering to serve on a committee is a great way to get involved and become familiar with how the association functions. When a Board position does become available, owners already volunteering for the association in another capacity are the obvious choices.
